So I guess I’m going to make a NEW mock PBA draft… especially with the confirmed entries of Kiefer Ravena and Jeric… err… Jeron Teng as well as the final draft order.
What if Jeric Teng applied for this draft?
As expected, Kia Picanto… or whatever car they want to name their squad… gets the top pick. They got this prize because of their insolence. Meanwhile, the NLEX Road Warriors get the second pick with the Blackwater Elite getting the third selection. The Phoenix Fuel Masters are number four, GlobalPort Batang Pier is at five, and the Alaska Aces are at number six. Rain or Shine, Meralco, Star, TNT, San Miguel, and Ginebra finish off the first round.
But what about the trades?
So I guess this is how the draft will work now that the order is revealed:
|2||NLEX ROAD WARRIORS|
|4||PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS|
|5||ALASKA ACES (From GlobalPort)||Alaska owns the right to swap first round picks with GlobalPort.|
|6||GLOBALPORT BATANG PIER (From Alaska)||Alaska owns the right to swap first round picks with GlobalPort.|
|7||RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO PAINTERS|
|8||PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS (From Meralco)||Phoenix acquired Meralco’s 2017 first round pick in exchange for Ranidel de Ocampo.|
|10||TNT KATROPA||TNT re-acquired their pick as part of the Larry Fonacier trade.|
|11||TNT KATROPA (From Phoenix via San Miguel)||TNT acquired Norbert Torres and Phoenix’ first round pick for Ranidel de Ocampo.|
|12||BARANGAY GINEBRA KINGS|
|13||NLEX ROAD WARRIORS (From GlobalPort via Meralco via Kia)||NLEX acquired the pick in a deal that included four teams and the likes of Larry Fonacier, JR Quinahan, Sean Anthony, Bradwyn Guinto, Jonathan Grey, and Garvo Lanete.|
|14||STAR HOTSHOTS (From Kia via NLEX)||Kia dealt Aldrech Ramos and its second round pick for Alex Mallari.|
|15||BLACKWATER ELITE (From NLEX via Blackwater)||Blackwater re-claimed their pick for Rabeh Al-Hussaini.|
|16||STAR HOTSHOTS (From Phoenix)||Star acquired the pick in exchange for Mick Pennisi.|
|17||GLOBALPORT BATANG PIER|
|18||PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS (From Alaska via Phoenix)||Alaska is set to claim Phoenix’s highest second round pick.|
|19||RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO PAINTERS|
|20||GLOBALPORT BATANG PIER (From Meralco)||GlobalPort acquired the pick alongside Jonathan Grey in a deal that sent Garvo Lanete to Meralco.|
|21||PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS (From Star)||Barako Bull acquired the pick, Wesley Gonzales and Chris Pacana from San Mig Coffee for Allein Maliksi.|
|23||PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS (From San Miguel)||Phoenix acquired this pick in a deal that sent Rico Maierhofer to San Miguel.|
|24||BARANGAY GINEBRA KINGS|
So at the moment, we have the likes of Christian Standhardinger, Ravena, Teng, Raymar Jose, Jason Perkins, Davon Potts, Jett Manuel, Lervin Flores, Rey Nambatac, Sidney Onwubere, Andreas Cahilig, Robbie Herndon, Julian Sargent, Zach Nichols, Arvie Bringas, Christian de Chavez, JonJon Gabriel, Biboy Enguio, John Karlo Casino, Emil Palma, and Felix Apreku with a couple of players like Joseph Gabayni, Gab Dagangon, Jamil Sheriff, Louie Vigil, Thomas Torres, Dan Sara, and Mark Tallo checking out the landscape before their names on the proverbial draft bag.
